On March 8th students from Cockburn John Charles Academy enjoyed an evening of huge success with two acts entered into the grand final of Leeds Got Talent 2018. The event was held in the impressive surroundings of the New Dock Arena in the centre of Leeds. The first success came when the dance group, choreographed by Miss Clarke won the audience vote with their incredible routine based around nightmares. The performance featured students from all year groups who displayed an impressive focus and professionalism during their time on stage. The academy’s other entry was a musical duet featuring Tia Musonza (Year 7) on vocals and Jack Marsden (Year 10) accompanying on piano. Their performance of ‘Lost Boy’ was enthralling and connected perfectly with the audience, who were in silence throughout. Narrowly beaten to the first place trophy, Tia and Jack were awarded the silver medal on the evening.
